Crushers clinch win

CROYDE'S Academy of Beach Sports has hosted the first South West Volleyball Association Satellite event at North Devon College.

And in an all-Academy final, Crushers' Immy Dawes, Holly Paddon, Becky Short and Ellie Austin beat Jumpers' Kim Jenkins, Aimee Gilbert and Michelle Kelly to win the under-15 girls event.

In the under-15 boys, the Academy A-Team of Sam Dunbavin, Matt Bull and Hayden Lawson finished third. But with all three under 13, they are well placed to make a big impact over the next two season.

Fourteen teams from the West Country took part and the presentations were made by British beach volleyball international Lucy Boulton.
