Elmore depleted for Oldland test

Friday, October 02, 2009, 23:00

ELMORE joint-boss Simon Harder has a whole host of key players missing for tomorrow's trip to Oldland Abbotonians.

Brett Worbey and Luke Bryant are both still out with injury while Sam Kemp, Steve Rowland and Danny Tapp could all be unavailable for the Western League Division One side due to work commitments.

The withdrawals have left Harder down to the bare bones and makes the trip to high-flying Oldland a fairly daunting prospect.

The Horsdon Park chief said: "We are suffering with injuries and all of those missing are key players, so they are all big losses for us.

"It's all hands to the pump at the moment. It was going to be a tough game anyway but we will go there and have a go.

"Oldland are doing well at the moment and have won their last three or four games and scored a few goals as well."

Forward Richard Steer is another doubt for Elmore as he has an ankle problem, but Harder is hoping he will recover in time to play. The Eagles boss also revealed he was considering changing formation in an effort to kick-start his side's season.

Harder said: "We have been playing 4-4-2 but we may go back to 3-5-2.

"I think that formation gives us a bit more in midfield, I think we look better going forward and tighter defensively."
