Judging begins for Broomhill's new National Sculpture Prize

JUDGING for Broomhill's new National Sculpture Prize takes place on Monday (February 1).

On the judging panel will be internationally renowned sculptors Robert Bradford, Sandy Brown, Giles Penny, Peter Randall-Page and Mike Roles.

The judges will be asked to pick 10 budding sculptors from 50 entrants. The 10 who are shortlisted will each be commissioned to create a sculpture for an outdoor exhibition at Broomhill Hotel and Sculpture Park in June.

They will each receive £1,000 from the Broomhill Art and Sculpture foundation to create their final piece.

Two overall winners will be announced in September, one chosen by the panel of judges and the other by the public. The sculpture that wins the public vote will be donated to the North Devon Hospice for one year and then replaced yearly by a subsequent winning sculpture.
