'Naked runners' put their clothes back on

A GROUP of female runners will swap stripping-off for dressing-up next week when they take part in a festive fundraising event in Barnstaple.

The North Devon Women's Running Network, who recently bared all for fashion presenter Gok Wan in the Channel 4 prime-time show How To Look Good Naked, is taking part in the 5km Santa Fun Run on Sunday, December 6 in aid of the North Devon Hospice.

Sam Husband, a member of the group, said: "We are a close-knit group of ladies and doing the TV show with Gok Wan brought us even closer together.

"People have asked us if we will be doing the fun run naked as well, but I don't think too many of us would be keen on doing that in December.

"It will be a fun and wacky day out for us all and we hope to raise plenty of money for North Devon Hospice."

The main race starts at 1pm with a children's fancy dress Mini-Run at noon.
