Members of the Combe Martin Parish Council planning committee reviewed Christmas lighting in the village.
During the recent festive period there was a large light in Lynton Road, a tree at both Adams Hay and on the Parade and lights on Combe Martin village hall.
This year members of the committee said they should have one large Christmas tree at Adams Hay in December because the other displays were either looking tired, faulty or difficult for the public to view.
Peter Spencer, chairman of the committee, said: "I think it is better to have one really impressive display rather than several dotted around.
"We also have to consider our budget."
