Special friends meet in Bideford tomorrow

Friday, July 03, 2009, 15:54

Young people who have siblings with additional needs will be meeting in Bideford tomorrow.

Torridge Special Friends is having a fun consultation event called Play Together.

It's for young people aged eight to 18 in Torridge who have siblings with additional needs.

The idea is for them to make their own choices about what kind of play and recreation they would like for their summer holidays.

A spokesman for the group said: "There will be lots to choose from and try out.

"It's often the case that siblings of children with additional needs would like to have something of their own to do in the holidays.

"We will be offering the space and the opportunity to have fun and the chance to make new friends for free.

"So here's the opportunity to have your say about what you'd like to do this Summer."

The Fun Try Out is at Bideford Youth Centre on the 4th July, 4, from 10.30am to 12.30pm

Torridge Special Friends is supported by volunteers and workers and is funded by

the National Lottery in partnership with Torridge District Council
