This is a chance to see artists in their workplace and talk to them about their inspiration, techniques and challenges. Four North Devon artists, taking part in the event, who should be worth a visit are:
Nigel Eveleigh:
Ceramic artist Nigel Eveleigh's work is generally low temperature, hand built and wood fired using sawdust and straw, oxides and different types of hard and soft wood.
He said: "The final control and finish is left to the smoke and flame making each piece of work unique and individual."
His work will be on show at East Barton Farm, Horwood, Bideford. www.diverseconnec tion.co.uk
Nigel Banks:
Using different mediums Nigel seeks artistic answers to scientific 'whys'.
View his work at www. whybynige.com or go along to his Studio at 5 Coronation Street, Barnstaple (just behind Green Lanes) which is open to the public on September 6, 9, 10, 11, 12 from 11am till 6pm.
Pam Williams:
Pam's paintings, illustration and photography are drawn together with a compulsive love of words which sometimes tend to weave their way into her images. Her paintings are worked in mixed media — mainly using acrylics, oil pastels, inks and collage.
Having studied both Fine Art and Illustration, teaching art for much of her life, and working as an illustrator for many years, she is now concentrating on working from her own studio.
See her work at Little Beech Hill, Fort Hill, Ashleigh Road, Barnstaple.
David Ames
David makes furniture for you to sit on, eat off, work at, sleep in and dream about. He works with the natural beauty of the timber, an intrinsic part of the design, crafting the wood using a mix of traditional and modern techniques to produce pieces with an organic energy and contemporary feel.
