Two rescued from stricken inflatable boat off Ilfracombe coast
Two people had to be rescued from an inflatable boat off Ilfracombe coast this afternoon.
The two men issued a mayday call at around 1pm after their rigid-hulled inflatable boat suffered engine failure and broke down approximately a quarter of a mile out of Ilfracombe Harbour.

Swansea Coastguard tasked Ilfracombe’s all-weather lifeboat to their rescue.
The stricken boat, called Quicksilver, was towed back to Ilfracombe Harbour by lifeboat crews. It returned to the harbour by 1.30pm.
