THE HIGH Five netball tournament, hosted by Langtree Reunites, brings the best out of St Helens.

In the annual tournament for schools from the Torridge area, the A team from Abbotsham won the cup for a third consecutive year.

Eight wins and a draw from nine games at the Park Community School, in Barnstaple, gave them the trophy ahead of runners-up Bradford A.

It was a successful day for the St Helens B team too, winning the plate after recording seven straight wins to finish ahead of second-placed Torrington.

Langtree Reunites provided the umpires for the day and they judged St Margaret's B worthy winners of the fair play trophy.

Staged for the fifth year, with support from the Bideford Bridge Trust and St John Ambulance, the tournament attracted 18 teams and saw an excellent standard of netball.

Langtree offer the chance to progress from High Five to senior level and are hoping some of the young players at the event will join their club.

Players in Year 6 can join the junior section, which trains every Wednesday at Great Torrington School from 7 to 8pm.

Players in Years 3 to 5 can join the High Five section, training two Wednesdays each month at the same venue. To find out more contact head coach Tess Gorin on 07971 083510.
