Stage Three of the Tour of Britain comes to the South West on September 9 and the cyclists will pass through Exmoor as they ride from Chard to Burnham-on-Sea.
Among the star names now confirmed for the race are Beijing team pursuit gold medallists Bradley Wiggins and Geraint Thomas.
Points race bronze medallist Chris Newton will also be among the elite group when the peloton passes through the region.
And after his stunning four stage victories in the Tour de France, Mark Cavendish will add further star quality.
The stage, hosted by Somerset County Council, is expected to attract thousands of spectators along the route.
Featuring three King of the Mountain challenges, the 185km South West stage is set to be one of the toughest on the tour.
Spectators can see the race unfold in Witheridge (11.45am), South Molton (12.10pm) and the King of the Mountain challenge at North Molton Ridge (12.30pm). Alvin Horsfall of Somerset County Council said: "The Great Britain Olympic team has set a new standard for competitive cycling.
"It will be great for residents and visitors to see the stars of the Olympics competing.
"Last year the race attracted more than 70,000 spectators and we hope the recent success of British cycling will attract even more crowds this year."
Wiggins will be riding for Team Columbia and Thomas for Barloworld.
Newton will lead the Rapha-Condor-Recycling.co.uk squad in the Tour.
PEDAL POWER: Bradley Wiggins shows off his individual pursuit gold medal.
