Injury cuts short Pickard's debut

The new Barum boss named himself in his first team selection, for Saturday's Toolstation Premier Division clash at Sherborne Town.
But a heavy tackle with 10 minutes left of the first half ended Pickard's part in the action and left him needing a trip to hospital for stitches in his knee.
That denied the boss the chance to see his new side complete a 2-2 draw and end a run of eight league defeats.
Stan Paxton headed Barnstaple into the lead after 29 minutes.
Fellow forward Pickard was then hurt in a tackle which saw the referee add insult to injury by showing him the yellow card.
Sherborne hit back in the second half, with Sam Jarman firing in from 18 yards for a 56th-minute equaliser.
Barum regained the lead 10 minutes later when young striker Paxton again headed in.
They thought they had done enough for only their second league win of the season, but the hosts levelled again — through a Jarman header — with five minutes to go.
Barnstaple midfielder Jamie Skinner hit the crossbar in the time that was left — but they could not force the victory.
Pickard said: "I'm really pleased with what I saw in the first half.
"All over the pitch we were brilliant, it was a really good performance."
The injury means Pickard will lead bottom side Barnstaple from the dugout when they go to second-placed Dawlish Town tomorrow night.
KNEE INJURY: Owen Pickard.
