Bride's dumper truck surprise for the groom

Thursday, June 11, 2009, 06:51

A TORRINGTON bride surprised her husband by turning up to their wedding blessing in a dumper truck.

Los Warren said her husband Shaun Mitchell's first love is tippers and diggers.

So she thought she would surprise Shaun, who owns S. Mitchell Tipper and Plant Ltd, by arriving in one of his vehicles.

She said: "He always says, 'You can take my wife but don't take my digger!'.

"I had always said I wanted to do something different and so this seemed like a good idea.

"Shaun was gobsmacked when he was called out of the church to see me coming down on it.

"He was really pleased with it and said that only I would have done that."

Los' friends also joined in the construction theme and made a guard of honour dressed in flash jackets and hard hats and carrying brooms and shovels.

Los is the company secretary of her husband's business and the couple, from Torrington, have been together for eight years.

Shaun, 38, and Los, 46, then went on to Langtree Village Hall for their reception.

Los' bridesmaids were her grand-daughter Keira Cooke and Joanne Treml.

Shaun's best man was Simon Matthews.

The blessing at Taddiport Church was the first of its kind.
