Three trophies for Barnstaple Archery Club in year's first shoot

FIVE members of Barnstaple Archery Club took part in their first competition of the year, hosted by Kyrton Archers in Crediton.

A strong performance from Daniel Tompkins saw him take the men's compound trophy with a score of 574, one point ahead Mark Cardy and Tom Kingston, from Honiton's Lacetown Archers, who tied for second place.
Estelle Edwick won the ladies' recurve with a score of 560, beating Zena Barker, of Holsworthy's Loco Bowman, by seven points.

Edwick, Tompkins and Clark Fox, who shot a personal best of 544, combined to win the team award for Barnstaple.
The club will be running archery taster sessions on some Saturdays.
